Cack Handed Golf Tour

2022 saw Alan set up The Cack Handers Tour for those talented bunch of golfers who hold the club in a unique way. Right handed golfers gripping the club with left hand below right, and left handed golfers gripping the club with right hand below left…. !

Alan said, “I got the idea from a cack handed golfer from Edinburgh, Scott Johnston. Scott contacted me to see if I’d be interested in maybe running a golf event for cack handed golfers. After thinking about it I thought let’s do a mini tour instead, and I pulled 6 events together for the 2022 season which included a 36 hole Scottish Championship at The Deer Park Golf and Country Club in Livingston. The cack handers who played throughout the season absolutely loved it and they are a really good bunch of guys. In 2023 the tour increased to 8 events with the Scottish Championship played over the beautiful Cawder and Kier Courses, near Bishopbriggs on the outskirts of Glasgow. The last event of the season scheduled for Longniddry, unfortunately did not go ahead due to weather but didn’t detract from another great season for the cack handers”.

Another 8 events are planned for 2024 and more details coming here soon.

2023 Season - Order Of Merit

Kevin Christie of Shotts Golf Club led the order of merit going into the final event of the year at Longniddry, after some consistent performances throughout the season. 3 players however were still capable of catching Kevin on that final day. Unfortunately ( Kevin might disagree ), the event had to be cancelled due to storm like conditions in East Lothian and Kevin was crowned 2023 Order of Merit winner. His reward for winning the OOM was a fourball at the fabulous Cabot Highlands Castle Stuart Links ( worth £1,200 ), which Kevin will enjoy taking 3 friends in 2024 to experience this wonderful golf course
